Evita Tezeno Port Arthur, Texas native, and graduate of Lamar University.
Her works of art consists of collages with cubism influences. Her bold use of color, texture and shape are the core of her collages. Inspired by images that she sees in her sleep, Evita translates these visions through mixed media, combining handmade papers, acrylic paints and found objects. Pulling from experiences and children’s stories, she creates whimsical images that provoke laughter, thought and help to enrich the soul.
Her work is collected by many famous entertainers, media personalities and can be found in the homes of professional athletes.
Her work has been commissioned by the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans, Dallas’ Deep Ellum Film Festival, the 30th annual New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.
A successful visual artist, raw food chef and youth mentor. Evita has a passion for the state of health in our communities and the environment. She is particularly interested in the healing communication offered by art and compassion. Evita mentor’s teenage girls in need of direction most coming from broken families. Evita is also a vegan member of the Black Vegetarian Society of Texas, and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Evita is helping to produce public and media awareness of youth issues, using the power or art and creativity to increase youth involvement in their future success.
